Pittsburgh – An ex- police officer from Crafton police who was in jail for a year following a fatal hit and run incident is again in hot water. He is now accused of  drug charges and evidences have been collected.

Authorities who had a warrant found illegal and banned substances inside his home so they filed these charges.

Donnie Breeden was once an officer of the state an had taken an oath to obey the law when sworn as officer of the State. Now, he is a convict after having served a sentence of a year in prison. He was imprisoned due to the hit-and-run death of David Hall, age 24.

Based on evidences, Breeden was allegedly drinking when he ran down David Hall and fled from the scene.

After a year in jail, he did not learn any lesson; he is in more trouble with the law. When Allegheny County Police has a warrant and raided his home in Green Tree, they found drugs that were both banned and illegal.

Authorities reported that they found the following tell-tale evidences: (1) discs of compressed cocaine; a number of bags of marijuana; (3) vials of anabolic steroids; (4) cash in the amount of $1,500; and (5) some drug paraphernalia.

Nobody was in the home of Breeden last Thursday to be interviewed.

Allegheny County Police discovered that Breeden was selling coke, pot and steroids out of his home. The arrest for arrest drugs followed just two years after he got out of jail serving a sentence for hit-and-run case.

At last Breeden was free and released after fulfilling a sentence but in time, he will  be spending more time in jail.

In August of 2009, Breeden was fired by Crafton Police after he made a plea of guilty to a hit-and-run charge and made no contest to the charge of involuntary manslaughter September of 2010.

Donnie Breeden, age 42 and resident of Green Tree, was arraigned last Wednesday on charges of the possession of anabolic steroids, cocaine and marijuana which the police found inside his home last week. He will be facing a preliminary hearing on the 26th of September.

Breeden used to be a Crafton police officer but he hit David Hall, age 24 and resident of Moon who was crossing a street in Pittsburgh in July 2007. The incident led to his being fired from service and in August 2009, he pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run charge and did not contest a sentence for involuntary manslaughter in September 2010.

Drug charges are serious for they carry significant penalties to include a jail that may be up to probation to life imprisonment; forfeiture of one’s property; suspension of driver’s license; lengthy probation; problem of child custody; and even significant fines ranging from hundreds of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

When a person is charged by any state or federal authority, the penalty of each criminal charge is determined by several factors, which in turn can either substantially increase or decrease the penalty associated with each criminal drug charge.
