Late Sunday night, a vehicular mishap in Beaver County injured four people who are now recovering after their injuries were treated.

Officials, who were at the scene, reported that the accident took place at Block 1000 in Reno St Extension in the Twp. of New Sewickley at approximately 11:00 o’clock in the evening.

Vicki Parrish stated that she got a call from Emily, her 18-year-old daughter that night who sounded hysterical informing her of the crash.

Her daughter, Emily, age 18 was driving an SUV with her boyfriend, age 16 who was in the passenger’s seat beside her; his twin sister seated at the back and another teener of 16 years, when for unknown reasons, she lost control of the vehicle.

Parrish said that the arm of Emily seemed to twitch and she was no longer able to control the car as it never regained right momentum as it went around the bend.

Police also believed that aside from losing control, Emily seemed to be over-speeding. Her 16-year-old boyfriend suffered the most critical injury.

Parrish said that she does not believe that the young man ever gained consciousness before they took him.

The Emergency responders cut out the young man from the roof of the SUV to free him from the vehicle. After he was extricated, he was immediately airlifted to the Presbyterian Hospital of UPMC where he sustained serious condition.

The two young people in the backseat were also delivered to the Medical Center of Heritage Valley where they were treated for minor injuries and later released.

Emily Parrish suffered from broken scapula and broken rib and was treated in the same Center.

According to authorities, the accident took place after midnight along the Extension of Reno St.

Emily Parrish, 18, who was operating the vehicle, lost control and crashed into a pole before it overturned down a hill.

Officers reported that Cody Zedak, age 15, seated in the front passenger seat, was critically injured.  According to the officials of the Presbyterian Hospital at the  UPMC, the victim was in serious condition.

Members of his family said the young man suffered from brain injuries and will have to undergone extensive reconstructive surgery.

Officials stated that the other people in the vehicle were: (1) Marshall McBride; (2) Kyleigh Zedak who is the twin sister of Zedak; and (3) Parrish McBride. They all sustained minor injuries.

Police officer of New Sewickley, Dave Bondy believed that speed was a factor in the crash.

New Sewickley Chief of Police, Ron Leindecker said that these are country roads that are twisting and turning several directions that a driver needs to focus his attention to the limit of speed.

Drivers have to slow down and pay attention. It is not worth getting to the destination quicker. Leindecker said.

Investigation of the accident is continuing.
