Jefferson Township Pa. – A truck crashed into a one -story home at the Charleston Rd. in Jefferson. This is now the incident that Mercer County police in is investigating.

According to a supervisor, a one story home was plowed by a truck; however, Jefferson township police gave no specific details but reports indicated that the incident happened at 9:00 o’clock in the evening of Saturday while the owners of the place was away attending a nearby fair.

The crash injured the driver of the vehicle.

The family who owns the house in Mercer County has to find a place for them to stay after a truck brought havoc into their residence last Saturday night.

Police said that after crashing through a house on Charleston Rd. in Jefferson Twp, the pickup truck driver was airlifted by a helicopter ambulance to a Youngtown’s hospital.

Home owner, Tammy Lantz stated that during the wreck the family was attending a Fair in Stoneboro and was shocked to find what happened to their family until she came home with her husband and four sons.

The wiring of the place was entirely ripped off. The Red Cross was contacted to help the family out.

A pickup truck that crashed into a house in Jefferson Township Saturday night went out around 175 feet away from the road before it crashed into the house at 9:00 o’clock that evening. This was the first time that this accident happened to her family.

Meanwhile, a couple from Easton, Penn, identified as Sonya and Wade Schenewolf said that Tuesday morning was the fourth crash and the third crash for the last six months that their home was crashed by a vehicle.

Sonya Schenewolf said that her house got hit in December, in March and in May. A year before that her car and garage were also hit.

She has had serious damage to her garage, car and front porch from the various accidents.

Schenewolf said that the crash on Tuesday was due to a speeding driver who was running approximately 65 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.

The couple planned to place a boulder in front of their house to prevent accidents but authorities told that such an obstacle would make them liable for any damage done by a reckless driver.

Tuesday’s mishap occurred about 15 quarter of an hour prior to Wade Schenewolf going to his car in the driveway to leave for work. If he was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, he would have been killed.

The coupled estimated that the property damage was around $40,000 but the driver who crashed into their house has only $5000 in property damage coverage.

The couple will be going to township officials to fight for a boulder.

Schenewolf said that if the boulder is a heavy duty one, a truck would have to bring it in and the boulder would slow a car down.
