Bullskin Township – A tragic crash in Fayette County claimed the lives of a mother and her 7-year-old child were killed while her other two children sustained injuries after her car and a dump truck collided last Wednesday morning.

Traffic officials at the scene reported that the accident occurred t the Englishman Hill Rd. in the Township of Bullskin.

The fatality was a mother of three children who for unknown reasons lost control of her vehicle when she negotiated a curve and swerved along the way of an oncoming dump truck.

Dump truck operator tried to avert the crash but it was too late.

The victims were rushed to the Children’s Hospital. One of the three children, identified as Myah Worley later died. Myah was a first grader at the School District of Southmoreland.

The two other children were a young girl of 5 and a little boy of 2. They were listed under stable condition.

The mother was identified as Angela Thomas, age 26, and was killed instantly.

Mike Richter, a friend of Thomas said that Angela was mother who looked after her kids and was always with them. He said it is a tragedy that this woman who was also a close friend was gone.

Cindy Richter added that Angela was a great neighbor. It is so sad that one kid was gone and the other two lost a mother.

Thomas’ other friends, Heather Lynn and Candy Sanner came to the crash site last Wednesday afternoon and placed a stuffed animals at the side of the road as a loving memorial. Both women found it hard to believe that she was dead and claimed that she was a good mother.

Thomas was employed at Connellsville’s McDonald. The company released a statement that their thoughts and prayers are for the family and Angela and she will be greatly missed.

Meanwhile, the superintendent of Southmoreland School District assigned grief counselors to help students and staff through the loss.

However, there is a bit of sunshine as one of the other two children injured in the accident was released from the hospital after one day.

Angela Thomas and Mylah Worley died in the head-on collision Wednesday morning on Englishman Hill Road in Bullskin Township.

Two of Angela’s children in the car were Zylan Thomas, age 2 and his sister, Sidney Worley, age 6. They were delivered to the Children’s Hospital, where family members are praying for their recovery. After a day, one of these two kids will be going home.

Investigators are trying to solve the puzzle why did Thomas cross the center line? Maybe this will be answered at the closure of the investigation.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured
