Pittsburgh – Mt. Lebanon police said arrested a man who was suspected of hitting a woman with a vehicle and leaving the accident scene last weekend after he has turned himself in.

The suspect was identified as Anthony Flores, age 49, resident of Beechview. He voluntarily surrendered last Friday to face a charge of felony for fatal accidents accident, personal injury and a misdemeanor charge for tampering with or fabricating evidence.

Police said that the woman was struck while she crossing Washington Rd. along   Cedar Blvd. at about 10:20 o’clock Saturday evening. The victim sustained major injuries to both her femurs and a head.

Police was told by witnesses that the vehicle stopped for a while prior to fleeing and continuing northward to Dormont and the city of Pittsburgh.

.Mt. Lebanon police were pleased to report that man responsible for the hit and run accident is now under their custody.

49-years old Anthony Flores was arrested for his involvement in a a crash that seriously injured a 28-year old female victim.

The woman was hit by the Flores’ SUV and she was thrown more than 60-feet at the intersection of Cedar and of Washington.

She sustained critical injuries including two broken legs, and a head concussion.

Police added that the driver did initially stop for a while but when a small crowd gathered, he panicked and fled from the scene.

Prior to the accident, the woman was with a group of friends but she was alone in the street when hit while crossing against the green light.

At last authorities apprehended the man involved in a hit and run mishap evening of Saturday along the area of Mt. Lebanon.

Based on police report, the driver Flores surrendered last Friday morning and he will be facing several charges: (1) accidents involving death/personal injury; (2) tampering with/fabricating physical evidence; and (3) not providing immediate notice of accident to the police department.

Investigators said that the officers responded to a call involving vehicle-pedestrian accident last Saturday at about 10:30 o’clock in the afternoon at the corner of Cedar Blvd. and Washington Rd.

Witnesses told police that Flores first got out of his vehicle and walked over to the witnesses but left immediately after bystanders were tending to the woman.

The victim who preferred to be unidentified broke both femurs and suffered concussion of the head.
